TCHO at the Sweet Shop

Have you ever had TCHO chocolate? If not, you are in for a real treat. TCHO describes themselves as a "new kind of chocolate company for a new generation of chocolate enthusiasts". We're going to be carrying a few of their products at the Sweet Shop, so stop by and treat yourself to one of their unique, delicious bars and become a new fan of TCHO.

This is the TCHO "Flavor Wheel". They use their "Flavor Wheel" to tune each of their products. The "Flavor Wheel" also serves to help you discover your chocolate in a common-sense way.
Now, here is one that I'm truly excited about given that I'm a hot chocolate drinker. This is their "drinking chocolate". To say that it is delicious and like drinking liquid chocolate does it absolutely no justice whatsoever. You just have to trust me and try it for yourself. It is pure deliciousity (ok, this is not an actual word, but it is now because it describes this product).

Another article about the Sweet Shop

Thank you to the Los Altos High School newspaper staff and reporter Zia Rosenzweig for taking the time to write this article on us. We were so flattered that they wanted to take the time to write about our Shop and we also understand that many of the students are excited for us to open. When they sent us a copy of this article, they also sent us a copy of the whole student produced newspaper "The Talon" and I have to say how impressed I was at looking at this newspaper. We appreciate the press and can't wait to see many of the LAHS students at our Shop this summer.

Sweet Shop picture updates

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted pictures of our Shop and wow...you can see how we've changed.   Look at our gorgeous trellis now!  We can just imagine our customers enjoying their cappuccino's and baked goods  (or a nice bag of candy) while sitting at one of our tables under our shaded trellis. It's going to be so nice!  And next to the trellis area will be a cute, small pond that will be very relaxing to just sit by.

The counter tops are in and they are so pretty!  Our designer, Julie Brown, did such an amazing job picking out everything for the Shop.  I can't wait for everything to come together myself!

The tile is in too!  This is the tile that just got put on a few of the walls.  Very pretty.  It's going to look great with the cabinets, the counter tops and the paint color.  We are going to be the most unique and prettiest Sweet Shop ever!

Old fashioned candy - we'll have that too at the Sweet Shop

The Sweet Shop is happy to let you know that we will be carrying some of Hammond's candies. Hammond's has been making candy since 1920 and if you have ever had the pleasure of tasting their candy, you just know it's "a Hammond's".   Their candies always taste fresh, unique and I have to admit..there is something a little "old fashioned" about them that I just adore.

Here is one of the lollipop's we will be carrying in our Shop.  Hmmm...I wonder why? Does it remind you of anything?

Here's another Hammond's product that we adore...peppermint cocoa stirrers.  I have to admit that I am quite the hot chocolate addict...and when I tried one of these in my hot chocolate...WOW!!!  What a nice addition it made.   Add some marshmallows and you've got yourself a little party in a mug going on!!

Parisian croissants at the Sweet Shop

We are proud to announce that we will be serving fresh, buttery croissants from Kelly's French Bakery in Santa Cruz at the Sweet Shop.  If you are from Santa Cruz or Aptos, this should be exciting news to you as Kelly's usually has a line out the door for not only their croissants, but for their pastries and many other baked goods as well.   We will be carrying a few of their other popular baked goods (one of my personal favorites is a "Good Fella"...to die for!!!) so you just have to stop in to see for yourself what the Santa Cruz & Aptos locals already know is wonderful. And if you are wondering why the croissants and baked goods taste so good...just read the "about us" section on the Kelly's website and  you'll see that the owners of Kelly's studied in France & Italy perfecting their pastry and breadmaking skills.  And now the customers of the Sweet Shop will get to sample just a few of their wonderful treats.

Bon Appetit!
